Shows typical wear from use and storage, including surface marks, scratches,
and a few light dents on the exterior. The interior leather is dry and not
pliable, shows light spotting and soiling, the coin purse adhesive has
separated, and will either need to be repaired or replaced. It has been gently
hand polished, and it has nice shine and is very clean. It is straight, not
bent, it opens and closes very securely, has no personal monograms or
engravings, with no major issues at all.
Exterior of the case is a very simple, plain, blank design that is timeless
and classic. It is maker hallmarked on the inside edge STERLING 58, along with
the crown, Gothic letter T, and lion pictomark for The Thomae Company, also
known as Charles T. Thomae & Son, Inc., of Attleboro, MA USA, well known for
their novelty, vanity and jewelry items in gold and silver.
This is a really great, very collectible piece for those that collect unique
silver, silver items by this maker, or various wristlets, purses and wallets!
Would be great to repurpose for other uses or repair and replace the interior
leather! It is a fantastic piece in person!
