This is a Pair of Rare Vintage Gold Filled Bifocal Eyeglasses in a Hard-Pack
Opticians Case. The gold colored metal frames measure 4” across the front of
the lenses, and each wire earpiece measures about 4 ¼” long. The earpieces are
hinged, and the ends are curved wire, that can bend to fit a range of head
sizes. The front of the nose guard, and outside part of both earpieces, near to
the hinge, are embossed with a fancy geometric design. Even the tiny nuts that
hold the lenses on are fancy. Each lens measures 1 3/8” x 1 5/8”, and they are
probably reading glasses. The glasses have embossed info on the inside of the
nose guard that says ”1/10 12K GF”. The glasses appear to be in very good
condition, although there is a chip off both lenses around one of the nuts that
holds the lenses on. The glasses come with a hinged hard-pack Opticians case,
with a label on the felt covered inside that says “Eli Ross – Optometrist &
Opticians / Brooklyn NY”. The case is probably not as old as the glasses
themselves. The case does have some wear to its exterior. As a BONUS I’m
including a pair of Gold Filled Lorgnette eyeglasses. These have only a tiny
hole in the edge of one lens, that was for a hand held handle. They are marked
on the nose guard “GF Shur-ON”. The nose guard is elaborate & fancy, with tiny
textured nose rests, & hinged nose pieces. There is no makers name I can see.
These glasses appear to be in great condition, except for the missing handle on
the one side, and 1 lens has a tiny flake off its edge. Lucky Buyer pays
successful amount, plus $5.00 shipping in the USA. Thank You for Considering My
